From the Center for Surveillance and Control of Communicable Diseases National Institute of Public Health and the National Influenza Centre of Cantacuzino INCDMI shows that in week 41/2013, in Romania the intensity of influenza / acute respiratory infections is low, below basic without geographical spread.
In the second week of sentinel epidemiological surveillance type of current season there were 5 cases of clinically compatible with influenza disease but have not been confirmed as influenza laboratory Cantacuzino Institute.

 Nationally, the total number of clinical conditions <ILI> compatible with influenza and respiratory infections ( 44 474 ) is 10% higher than that recorded in the same week of the previous season and 42.3 % lower than that registered the previous week ( mainly due to under - reporting of the winter holidays ) .
 In week 52/2013 there were 3 cases with national clinical conditions compatible with influenza <ILI> 4 times less than those recorded in week 52/2012 (12 cases ILI ) .
 The number of cases of severe acute respiratory infection <SARI> reported decreased 5 cases versus 10 cases in the previous week . Compared to the same period last year , the number of cases notified is less severe 4 .

 Nationally, the total number of clinical conditions <ILI> compatible with influenza and respiratory infections ( 38 207 ) is 1.8% lower than that recorded in the same week of the previous season and 14.1% lower than that recorded in the previous week.

 In week 1/2014 there were 3 cases with national clinical conditions compatible with influenza <ILI> , 9.6 times less than those recorded in week 1/2013 ( 29 cases ILI ) .

 The number of cases of severe acute respiratory infection decreased <SARI> reported in 2 cases , compared to 5 cases in the previous week . Compared to the same period last year , the number of cases is less severe notified by 9 .

 There were no SARI deaths this week ;

There were two deaths in confirmed cases of influenza virus A ( H1) pdm09 :
a man of 73 years in Bucharest, with pre-existing medical conditions , unvaccinated
shot and a woman 53 years of Timis county with medical conditions

Since the beginning of the season surveillance of acute respiratory infections , influenza and
SARI and until 04.03.2014 were 148 confirmed influenza cases:
