September 23, 2016 Posted in News

No outbreak of Rift Valley Fever (#FVR) is reported in Mali as of September 22, 2016.

Following rumors on social networks mentioning the occurrence of an outbreak of fever Rift Valley in Mali, I come by this publication to affirm that no cases of hemorrhagic fever called Rift Valley fever are reported on Malian territory.

Note that an outbreak of the epidemic was reported in a town in Niger a few kilometers from the health district of Menaka

In order to prevent any risk of occurrence of this disease in our country, preventive measures (establishment of an Ad Hoc Working Group, information and awareness of Menaka through local communication channels information message dissemination and awareness ORTM, development of a response plan, current provision for vaccination of livestock) are taken.

The Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene will spare no effort to protect the health of the population and will keep you informed of developments.

The technical services of the Ministry of Health are available to any party wishing more clarification on that, with objectivity and transparency.
Thank you
