Red alert sounded in state, 63 swine flu cases in 2 days
Looking at the situation, health minister Kali Charan Saraf on Wednesday addressed all chief medical and health officers and principal medical officers across the state.

In January 2017, there was only one positive case and one death, while in January 2016 there were 86 positive cases and 19 deaths. In 2015, there were 173 positive cases and 43 deaths.

The health department has sounded a red alert in the state as swine flu (H1N1) has been spreading at an alarming rate. In two days (Monday and Tuesday), a total of 63 people have been tested positive for the flu and two have died.

Out of 12 persons who succumbed to swine flu in the state, two persons, including a 76-year-old person who died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital on Tuesday, were from Jaipur.

Former min?s son, two others die of swine flu

Jaipur/Alwar: Three people, including son of a former minister, succumbed to dreaded swine flu in the state on Monday. Besides, eight more persons were diagnosed with the disease.

(43), son of former minister Hari Singh Yadav, died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Gurgaon. Yadav, a resident of Alwar, was posted at archaeology department and was unwell for the past few days.

Rajasthan 'well equipped' to combat swine flu

With the cases of swine flu constantly on the rise, Rajasthan Health director VK Singh Mathur on Saturday said that the health department is "well equipped" to control the situation, adding that they are looking for ways to combat it.

Speaking to the reporters here, Mathur said, "25 deaths have been reported in Rajasthan within 20 days.

Swine flu in Jodhpur: 17 dead in 28 days

The city registered 60 swine flu cases since January 1, and of these, a whopping 17 patients have died. The swine flu menace in Jodhpur is taking a big toll, especially among children.

During the last four days, three children have tested positive for swine flu. They include kids of the ages four, five and six. Besides children, pregnant women are also vulnerable to the virus.

Four more die of swine flu, toll reaches 45 in Jan

Jaipur: New Year has brought along with it the scare of swine flu. With four more people died on Monday, the toll has reached 45 in the state in January so far. Besides, 648 persons were diagnosed with the disease during the same period.
Two deaths were reported from Jaipur, while one each died in Pali and Ajmer districts, respectively.

An 85-year-old woman, resident of Dujana in Pali district, died of swine flu after undergoing treatment for 15 days in a hospital attached to government-run medical college. ?We detected the patient while conducting screening for swine flu. She was immediately referred to higher centres for treatment. Finally, she was rushed to Jodhpur for treatment. But, she succumbed to the disease,? said Dr Surendra Singh Shekhawat, chief medical and health officer of Pali.
