300 ill after drinking contaminated water in Bikaner

BIKANER: As many as 300 people were taken ill after drinking contaminated water at an industrial area in Bikaner over the past three days. An 11-year-old girl died at a hospital, however, the administration denied reports that the death took place due to contaminated water. Several of the victims were admitted to PBM Hospital due to serious condition.

According to a district administration officer, people from Karani Nagar Industrial area were being admitted to hospitals with complaints of vomiting and stomach ache. CMHO Dr Devendra Chaudhary said till now 297 patients have been suffering from vomiting and diarrhoea and are being provided medical treatment in a temporary health camp.
