Race to Finalize TICPs

I just heard on our local radio that officials were running through their Tactical Interoperable Communications Plan (TICPs). What really stood out was that they refused to comment on what type of scenario the exercise used, but they did mention that it was a situation that continued to escalate over time.

Apparently these plans are all due May 2006 so it seems everyone is rushing to get them done.

# Program Coordination: Assisting the Disaster Management initiative in creating a governance framework emphasizing local and state public safety needs. Additionally, SAFECOM has worked with the ODP’s Interoperable Communications Technical Assistance Program (ICTAP) to develop a tactical interoperable communications plan that all Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) cities must complete by May 2006. SAFECOM has also worked with the Department of Justice 25 Cities Project, which will help make the top 25 high threat metropolitan areas interoperable.
# SAFECOM Website: Updated the SAFECOM website, www.safecomprogram.gov, to include tools and best practices for the public safety community.
