GS, in an attempt to answer your questions:
It was probably in the H7N9 GISAID thread because it was about H7N9. Although the thread seems to have evolved away from GISAID and toward H7N9 issues.
As far as "WE" and "Our": When a person is speaking in behalf of a business or group, we do use the plurals.
