MONTREAL -- Quebec health authorities reported 871 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 108,889.

The province also announced 34 more deaths from the disease, including five from the past 24 hours, 25 from between Oct. 27 and Nov. 1, and four from before Oct. 27, for a total of 6,317.

Montreal reported the most new cases with 209 (total 43,084), followed by Monteregie, with 151 (total 15,986), Lanaudiere, with 99 (total 7,711) and Quebec City, with 69 (8,989).

Hospitalizations also increased by 27 from Monday to Tuesday and there are now 526 people receiving treatment for COVID-19 across Quebec hospitals...

MONTREAL -- Quebec reported 1,138 new positive COVID-19 cases Thursday bringing the total number of cases in the province to 111,056 since the start of the pandemic.

Provincial public health authorities also reported 28 new deaths: they said 10 people died due to the disease in the past 24 hours in addition to nine who died between Oct. 29 and Nov. 3, six before Oct. 29 and three which occurred at an unknown date.

The total number of people who have died due to COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic is now 6,378.

Five deaths were reported in Quebec City (337 total) and Monteregie (744 total); three in Montreal (3,538 total), Outaouais (51 total), and Lanaudiere (237 total); two in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean (49 total), Estrie (45 total), and Chaudiere-Appalaches (81 total); and one death was reported in Bas-Saint-Laurent (eight total), Mauricie-et-Centre-du-Quebec (229 total), the Laurentians (310 total).

MONTREAL -- Quebec health authorities reported 1,133 more cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the total number of cases in the province since the start of the pandemic to 112,189.

Friday's update shows that the province is currently dealing with 9,830 active cases of the disease.

The province also reported 25 more deaths linked to COVID-19, including five from the past 24 hours, 15 from between Oct. 30 and Nov. 4, three from before Oct. 30 and two from an unknown date, for a total of 6,403.

On Friday, Quebec's seven-day rolling average stood at about 1,034 cases per day...

MONTREAL -- Quebec health authorities reported 1,162 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases in the province since the start of the pandemic to 117,151. Of them, 10,937 are active.

Quebec's seven-day rolling average now stands at about 1,180 cases per day.

The province is also reporting another 38 deaths linked to the disease, including nine from the past 24 hours, 27 from between Nov. 3 and Nov. 8, one from before Nov. 3 and one from an unknown date, for a total of 6,493.

Montreal reported a large portion of the province's new cases, with 253 (total 44,969) followed by Monteregie, with 192 (total 17,022) and Lanaudiere, with 173 (total 8,774)...

MONTREAL -- Quebec health authorities reported 1,378 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing the total number of cases in the province since the start of the pandemic to 118,529. Of them, 11,450 are active.

As of Wednesday, Quebec's seven-day rolling average is about 1,230 new COVID-19 cases per day.

MONTREAL -- Premier Francois Legault admitted at a news conference on Thursday that his government is considering closing schools temporarily as COVID-19 cases in the province continue to increase.

"It remains the last solution, but currently, when one looks at the situation, we should not exclude any solution," Legault told reporters in Quebec City.

Since the start of the school year 9,775 students and staff at both public and private institutions have tested positive for the disease. As of Nov. 10 (the government's latest update) 2,899 of those cases were active and 1,174 classes were closed across the province...

TORONTO -- Ontario is reporting a spike in deaths related to COVID-19 as it enters the 10th day in a row where the daily case counts have reached the quadruple digits.

Health officials recorded another 1,248 cases of the novel coronavirus on Sunday, a single-day dip in infections following a record of 1,581 on Saturday.

Quebec is reporting 1,218 new cases and 25 additional deaths linked to the novel coronavirus Monday as the second wave of the health crisis bears down on the country.

Health authorities say six of the newly reported deaths occurred in the past 24 hours, while 19 were added retroactively from last week.

Health Minister Christian Dub? says the situation is improving in some regions but that good days must lead to a downward trend of infections.

“That’s why we’re asking everyone to continue their efforts to break this second wave,” he wrote...

Quebec’s novel coronavirus caseload has reached 126,054 after the province recorded 982 new infections Tuesday.

The health crisis has led to 24 additional deaths, including five in the last 24 hours. Since March, the pandemic has claimed the lives of 6,675 Quebecers.

Hospitalizations due to COVID-19 rose by 47 to 638. Among those patients, 100 are in intensive care, an increase of 13 from the previous day....

MONTREAL -- The number of new COVID-19 cases in Quebec remained high Wednesday though it was below the past week's average number.

Quebec reported 1,179 new cases Wednesday, which is 93 fewer than the average increase over the past week, which was 1,272. With Wednesday's number, the seven-day average is now 1,243.

Public health officials reported that 127,233 people have now contracted COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.

Of the total number, 108,625 are reported to have recovered from the disease, an increase of 1,299.

Quebec reported that 35 more people have died due to the disease, and the total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic is now 6,710...
