MONTREAL -- There are now 939 people who have died of COVID-19 in Quebec, health authorities announced Monday, as confirmed cases in the province reached 19,319.

That’s up 62 from the 877 deaths reported Sunday. COVID-19 cases in Quebec rose 962 from the 18,357 announced a day earlier.

There are 1,169 people being treated for COVID-19 in Quebec hospitals as of Monday, up 67 from the 1,102 reported Sunday. Of those in a hospital, 198 are in intensive care, up 15 from the 183 reported 24 hours earlier...

MONTREAL -- There are now 1,041 people who have died of COVID-19 in Quebec, health authorities announced Tuesday, as confirmed cases in the province reached 20,126.

That’s up 102 from the 939 deaths reported Monday; COVID-19 cases in Quebec rose 807 from the 19,319 announced a day earlier.

There are 1,224 people being treated for COVID-19 in Quebec hospitals as of Tuesday, up 55 from the 1,169 reported Monday. Of those in a hospital, 201 are in intensive care, up three from the 198 reported 24 hours earlier...

MONTREAL -- There are now 1,134 people who have died of COVID-19 in Quebec, health authorities announced Wednesday, as confirmed cases in the province reached 20,965.

That’s up 93 from the 1,041 deaths reported Tuesday; COVID-19 cases in Quebec rose 839 from the 20,126 announced a day earlier.

There are 1,278 people being treated for COVID-19 in Quebec hospitals as of Wednesday, up 54 from the 1,224 reported Tuesday. Of those in a hospital, 199 are in intensive care, down two from the 201 reported 24 hours earlier.

There are 4,839 people waiting for COVID-19 test results in Quebec as of Wednesday, 1,869 from the 2,970 reported Tuesday..

MONTREAL -- There are now 1,243 people who have died of COVID-19 in Quebec, health authorities announced Thursday, as confirmed cases in the province reached 21,838.

That’s up 109 from the 1,134 deaths reported Wednesday; COVID-19 cases in Quebec rose 874 from the 20,965 announced a day earlier.

There are 1,411 people being treated for COVID-19 in Quebec hospitals as of Thursday, up 133 from the 1,278 reported Wednesday. Of those in a hospital, 207 are in intensive care, up only eight from the 199 reported 24 hours earlier.

There are 3,007 people waiting for COVID-19 test results in Quebec as of Thursday, down 1,832 from the 4,839 reported Wednesday...

MONTREAL -- Quebec health authorities announced Saturday 106 more people have died of COVID-19. The total deaths have now reached 1,446, up from 1,340 reported Friday.

The total number of cases in the province is now 23,267, up 651 from the day before.

There are now 1,509 people being treated for COVID-19 in the province's hospitals, up 49 from the 1,460 reported Friday....

...The latest:
  • Quebec has 25,757 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 1,682 people have died. That's an increase of 83 deaths.
  • There are 1,625 people in hospital, including 217 in intensive care. Here's a guide to the numbers.
  • Children will be able to go to daycare and elementary school as of May 11 in most of the province, and a week later in the greater Montreal region.
  • Dr. Horacio Arruda says Quebec will ramp up testing to 15,000 a day, but province only receiving 30-minute tests by end of May.

Some Quebec businesses will be allowed to reopen in the coming weeks, Premier Fran?ois Legault announced Tuesday as part of the government's plan to gradually restart the economy.

"The goal is to reopen gradually to see if there is an impact on contagion, if there is an impact on our hospitals," Legault said at his daily news conference Tuesday.

Three types of businesses will be allowed to reopen in May:
  • Stores not including those in shopping malls.
  • Construction and civil engineering businesses.
  • Manufacturing businesses.

MONTREAL -- Quebec public health officials announced Sunday that a computer error resulted in 1,317 missing positive COVID-19 cases between April 2-30.

The province also announced a daily increase of 892 new COVID-19 from Saturday, bringing the total number of infections in Quebec to 31,865.

Sixty-nine people have died of the virus in the last 24 hours, which brings the total number of deaths to 2,205.
