MONTREAL -- Quebec reported Saturday that 1,685 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 252,176 since the start of the pandemic.

The number is above the seven-day average for daily increases which is now 1,601 new cases per day. The Quebec Institute of Public Health is reporting 17,488 active cases in the province.

Of the total number of confirmed cases, the province reports that 225,245 people have recovered from the disease, an increase of 1,878 from Friday.

The province added 76 more deaths due to the disease including 17 that occurred in the past 24 hours, 33 that occurred between Jan. 16 and Jan. 21, 24 before Jan. 16, and two deaths that occurred at an unknown date.

The total number of people who have died in Quebec due to the novel coronavirus is now 9,437.

The number of people receiving treatment in the province's hospitals decreased by 43 Saturday and the total number of hospitalizations is now 1,383. Of those, 216 people are in the intensive care ward, an increase of four from Friday.

It is the fourth day in a row that Quebec has reported a decrease in hospitalizations...

MONTREAL -- Quebec reported Sunday that 1,457 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours bringing the total number of infections to 253,633 since the pandemic began.

It is the first time since Jan. 18 that the number of new cases has been below 1,500, and the seven-day average for daily case increase is now 1,560.

The Quebec Institute of Public Health reports that there are 16,935 active cases in the province.

Of those who tested positive, Quebec reports that 227,215 have recovered from the disease, 1,970 more than on Saturday.

The province also added 41 more deaths due to the disease including 12 that occurred in the past 24 hours, 26 between Jan. 17 and Jan. 22, two before Jan. 17, and one death that occurred at an unknown date.

Since the start of the pandemic, Quebec reports that 9,478 people have died due to the novel coronavirus.

MONTREAL -- Quebec reported its lowest case count in weeks with 1,203 new COVID-19 infections on Monday.

As of Monday morning, there were 16,424 active coronavirus cases in Quebec.

The province also recorded 43 deaths, for a total of 9,521.

Of those, 12 occurred in the last 24 hours, and 31 happened between Jan. 18 and 23.

Recoveries outnumbered new cases, with 1,672 people reportedly virus-free on Monday.

Since March, 254,836 people have caught the novel coronavirus, of which 228,887 have recovered.

MONTREAL -- Quebec added 1,166 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, reporting the lowest case count in weeks for the second time in a row.

The province also reported 57 new deaths. Among these 57 deaths, four occurred in the last 24 hours, 49 between Jan. 19 and Jan. 24, three before Jan. 19 and one that happened at an unknown date.

The total of deaths amounts to 9,577. One death was withdrawn from that total after an investigation found it was not attributable to COVID-19.

Recoveries outnumbered new cases, with 1,916 people reportedly virus-free on Tuesday.

There are now 15,622 known active coronavirus cases in Quebec.

Hospitalization increased by three since the day before, for a total of 1,324 people in care. Of those, the number of patients in intensive care remained the same since yesterday, sitting at 217.

MONTREAL -- Quebec reported 1,328 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours and 53 new deaths, keeping up its recent trend of case counts near or below 1,500.

The average number of new cases per day in the past week is now 1,442.

Of the deaths, 16 took place in the last 24 hours, 30 between Jan. 20 and 25, four before Jan. 20 and three at an unknown date.

Hospitalizations decreased by 34 compared to the previous day, for a cumulative total of 1,290. Of those, the number in intensive care increased by four for a total of 221.

MONTREAL -- Quebec reported Thursday that 1,368 more people tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 258,698 since the start of the pandemic.

The number is below the seven-day average which is now 1,405.

Of the total number of positive cases, Quebec reports that 233,768 people have recovered from the disease, 1,547 more than on Wednesday.

The Quebec Institute of Public Health reports that there are 15,263 active COVID-19 cases in the province.

The province also added 39 deaths due to the disease including eight that were reported in the past 24 hours, 24 between Jan. 21 and Jan. 26, five before Jan. 21 and two at an unknown date.

The province also removed two deaths from the total after an investigation found that they were not attributable to COVID-19.

MONTREAL -- With a significant decrease in hospitalizations, Quebec added 1,295 new cases of COVID-19 and reported more 50 deaths on Friday, for a daily average of 1,357 reported infections per day.

There are now 14,760 known active coronavirus cases in Quebec.

Hospitalizations had another significant drop for the third day in a row, with 47 fewer people in care, for a total of 1,217.

Of those hospitalized, three are no longer in the intensive care unit, leaving attendance across the province at 209.

Of the 50 deaths reported, nine occurred in the last 24 hours, 35 between Jan. 22 and 27, and six happened before Jan. 22.

Since March, 9,717 people have died as a result of the disease.

Recoveries outnumbered new cases, with 1,748 people reportedly virus-free on Friday. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 259,993 people have contracted COVID-19, of which 235,516 have recovered....

MONTREAL -- As Quebecers anxiously await Premier Francois Legault's upcoming announcement on post-curfew health measures, the province announced Saturday that 1,367 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

The number is higher than the seven-day average for new cases which is 1,312 per day.

The total number of positive cases reported in Quebec since the start of the pandemic is now 261,360.

The Quebec Institute of Public Health reports that there are 14,509 active novel coronavirus cases in the province.

Of those, 1,572 more people are reported to have recovered from the disease bringing that total to 237,088.

The province also reported that 46 more people have died due to the virus including 14 deaths since Friday, 23 deaths between Jan. 23 and Jan. 28, and nine before Jan. 23.

Since March, 9,763 people in Quebec have died due to the novel coronavirus.

Hospitalizations dropped for a fourth day in a row with the province reporting that 54 fewer people are receiving care in Quebec hospitals for a total of 1,163. Of those, 201 are in the intensive care ward, a decrease of eight.

MONTREAL -- The province reported Sunday that 27 fewer people are receiving care in Quebec hospitals for COVID-19 than were on Saturday dropping the total number of hospitalizations to its lowest point since the beginning of 2021.

In the past week, hospitalizations have only increased one day and the total number of hospitalizations is now 1,136.

Of those in the hospital being treated for the novel coronavirus, 191 are in the intensive care ward, a decrease of 10.

Hospitalization numbers are at their lowest since Quebec reported that there were 1,075 patients receiving care for the virus Jan. 1.

Quebec reported that 1,223 more people tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, which is 56 fewer than the seven-day average for daily cases which is now 1,279.

Since the start of the pandemic, 262,583 people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Quebec.

Of those, 238,648 are reported to have recovered, 1,560 more than on Saturday.

The Quebec Insitute of Public Health is reporting that there are 14,141 active COVID-19 cases in the province.

It's the first time since early November that the province has reported a day with less than 1,000 new cases. Quebec is reporting 1,053 new cases and 38 additional deaths linked to the novel coronavirus Tuesday as the province looks to loosen some restrictions designed to hamper the spread of COVID-19.

Health authorities say seven of those deaths occurred in the past 24 hours while the others were added retroactively.

The death toll, which remains the highest in Canada, has reached 9,862 after two fatalities previously attributed to the virus were withdrawn from the list following an investigation.

Meanwhile, the caseload now stands at 264,526 while recoveries have topped 241,000.

Hospitalizations related to the virus dropped by 34 to 1,110. Of those patients, 178 are in intensive care, a decrease of five compared to the previous day...

MONTREAL -- For the second day in a row, the province reported the same number of new COVID-19 cases, when Quebec said 1,053 more people have tested positive for the virus in the past 24 hours.

The total number of infections since the start of the pandemic is now 265,579.

Of those who tested positive for novel coronavirus, the province reports that 242,692 have recovered from the disease, which is 1,155 more than Tuesday.

The Quebec Institute of Public Health is reporting that there are 12,988 active COVID-19 cases.

The number of deaths due to COVID-19 continues to creep near 10,000, and the province reported 37 more deaths due to the disease Wednesday, bringing that total to 9,899.

Of those who have died, nine were in the past 24 hours, 18 between Jan. 27 and Feb. 1, nine before Jan. 27, and one at an unknown date.

Hospitalizations continue to drop in Quebec, with four fewer people receiving care in the province's hospitals than Tuesday. The total number of hospitalizations is now 1,106 including 177 who are in the intensive care ward, a decrease of one.

MONTREAL -- Quebec reported 1,101 new positive COVID-19 cases Friday, as the total number of deaths due to the disease inches closer to 10,000 since the start of the pandemic.

Quebec reported 33 more deaths due to the disease including seven in the past 24 hours, 18 between Jan. 29 and Feb. 3, six before Jan. 29, and two at an unknown date.

The total number of deaths due to the novel coronavirus in the province since the start of the pandemic is now 9,973.

MONTREAL -- Quebec reported Saturday that 9,999 people have now died in the province due to COVID-19 after 27 deaths were added and one subtracted to the overall total.

The province said that one death was removed from the total as it was found to not be attributable to the novel coronavirus. Of the 27 new deaths, nine were reported to have occurred in the past 24 hours, 16 between Jan. 30 and Feb. 4, and two at an unknown date.

The province added 1,204 new positive COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours bringing the total number of cases in the province since the start of the pandemic to 268,977.

MONTREAL -- Quebec reached a grim milestone Sunday when the province surpassed 10,000 deaths due to COVID-19 as 32 new deaths were added to the overall total.

Premier Francois Legault reported the first COVID-19 death March 18, 2020 when 82-year-old Mariette Tremblay died in a nursing home in Lanaudiere. The province has now reported that 10,031 people have died due to the novel coronavirus.

Of the deaths reported Sunday, six occurred in the past 24 hours, 23 between Jan. 31 and Feb. 5, two before Feb. 5, and one occurred at an unknown date.

Quebec reported its sixth straight day of declining numbers of hospitalizations Sunday when the province said 19 fewer patients are receiving treatment in Quebec hospitals than were on Saturday for a total of 963 hospitalizations.

MONTREAL -- Quebec reported Wednesday that there are now 10,994 active COVID-19 cases in the province, 13 fewer than on Tuesday.

It is the first time the number of active cases has been below 11,000 since the province reported 10,930 active cases Nov. 23. The high point of active cases, 29,055, came on Jan. 7.

Quebec reported 989 new positive COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections since the start of the pandemic to 272,726.

Of those, 251,620 are reported to have recovered, 968 more than on Tuesday.

The average number of new cases for the past week is now 1,021 cases per day.

MONTREAL -- The Island of Montreal reached a grim milestone Friday when it surpassed 100,000 total COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic.

Quebec reported that 984 more people tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours bringing the total number of infections in the province to 274,931.

Montreal accounted for 432 of the new Quebec cases bringing its total to 100,203.

Of those in Quebec who have tested positive, 254,001 are reported to have recovered from the disease, 1,350 more than on Thursday.

The seven-day average for new cases in the province is now 1,008 per day, and the Quebec Institute of Public Health is reporting 10,657 active cases, 390 fewer than 24 hours ago.

In addition, the province added 25 deaths due to COVID-19 Friday including four that occurred in the past 24 hours, 13 between Feb. 5 and Feb. 10, seven before Feb. 5, and one at an unknown date.

The province removed one death from the overall total (in the Quebec City region) after it was found not to be attributable to COVID-19.
