On March 24, 2006 HHS Surgeon General Richard Carmona and Governor Anibal Acevedo-Vila signed a Planning Resolution detailing HHS' and Puerto Rico's shared and independent responsibilities for pandemic planning.Federal Help for Puerto Rico Planning
Puerto Rico received $1,443,014 in phase one funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to use for pandemic planning activities. Puerto Rico will also receive additional funds of $3,058,415 from the revised phase two of Health and Human Services? local and state allocations. This amount is based on a formula adjusted for population.
