Probation officer dies unexpectedly

Graham County said an unexpected goodbye to one of its officers Saturday when adult probation officer Daniel Arthur Wood, 53, was found deceased at his residence.

Wood's wife called the County Dispatch at about 7 a.m. after she discovered her husband wasn't breathing. Paramedics from Southwest Ambulance first arrived on scene and alerted Safford officers that Wood was deceased.

His wife told officers that Wood had been suffering from flu-like symptoms, as well as a bad headache and chest pains. After an initial observation, Graham County Medical Examiner Dr. Robert Coons told officers it appeared that Wood died from natural causes. Dr. Coons later performed a further in-depth investigation and concluded the cause of death to be from cardiac arrest...more at link
