A 31-year-old pregnant woman died in Georgia from type-A influenza. According to the Kutaisi Center for Disease Control, the woman died this morning.
She arrived to the hospital on Jan. 9 and was tested for the H1N1 virus, which has not yet been confirmed in laboratory conditions. However, the woman died from complications of type-A influenza.
The cause of the woman's death is being investigated. A special examination will be held. She is the first flu victim in Georgia this year.
The Georgian Health Ministry calls on the Georgian people, but primarily pregnant women, to appeal to a doctor immediately if they have high fever for three days.
