A woman six months into her pregnancy died on Tuesday morning after receiving treatment in connection with the H1N1 virus at a clinic of the Budapest Semmelweis University, the university told MTI.

The woman underwent life-saving treatment last Friday and doctors succeeded to stabilise her, but her condition worsened on Monday. The virus attacked her heart and kidney, and her breathing was helped with a machine, the clinic said.

Another pregnant woman treated with new flu symptoms at the Semmelweis clinic is in critical condition, the university added.

The condition of a third pregnant woman being treated in a hospital in Gyor (NW Hungary) is also critical, the hospital said on Monday.

The National Health Authority reported three H1N1 related deaths in Hungary on Monday. All of them were male patients, aged 18, 52 and 83.
