for 1kg of chicken-meat you need 1.8kg of poultry-food
for 1kg of pork you need 3kg of pig-food
EU loss could be about 2e9 Euro in 2006, I guess.
to compare:
EU-spendings for H5N1 research about 3e6 Euro per year !
and that's only for the poultry-loss. Add to that loss due to
pandemic preparedness and health risk, poultry indoors cost,...
Shouldn't we spend more on H5N1-research ?
