(JimO comment - this sounds like something that needs to be investigated. A swine influenza with about a 40% CFR in pigs - is that normal? It sounds like the pigs suffered from cyanosis before they died.)

Despite the reference to "pig flu" in the article above, the illness under investigation is not influenza at all, but PRRS, an unrelated virus.

Yes, that virus has a very high mortality rate in pigs.
