Total deaths all causes for El Paso was 78 in Week 16, making the %P&I deaths 10.3%. Also, the following is a comparison of all deaths with combined deaths in age groups 25-44 and 45-64 for the past seven weeks.

Over the past two weeks, there seems to have been an increase in the percentage of deaths in this age group.

Politician,healthcare employee,doctor,

Whether they changed anything with reporting
(P+I on death certificates)
what hospital these cases are from
whether they are examining this

I mean, we did have that _deadly_ 2nd wave in 1918,
now the same virus, again we had a 1st pandemic wave...
El Paso ows it to mankind.
Even if the chance is considered small.
An examination is not too much required.

I emailed El Paso DOH, they said that they are only required to report pediatric flu deaths of which there were none and suggested I talk to CDC as this was CDC generated data. CDC has not as yet responded to my inquiry.

It looks like, as a percentage of all deaths, P&I deaths are going down, while the total of P&I deaths has remained constant at 10-15 for the last 6 weeks:

Week 23 - 9.7%

Week 22 - 11.5%

Week 21 - 15.2%

Week 20 - 12.2%

Week 19 - 12.7%

Week 18 - 12.0%


Who compiles the El Paso data? El Paso public health department or the CDC? :confused:

Apparently, El Paso with a population of 650,000 people has had 33 P&I deaths in weeks 20-22 total. But that may not be that anomalous compared to other similar size cites like Memphis (population 650,000; 43 P&I deaths), Baltimore (621,000; 27), Columbus (787,000; 49), Charlotte (731,000; 27), Washington D.C. (602,000; 26).

but Memphis has ~160 total deaths per week, while El Paso
only has ~100

maybe sometimes it's the county, sometimes the city
some hospitals may be excluded or delayed

2.4M deaths in USA per year, those 122 cities make
~1/4 of the population and have ~10000 deaths per week

--> El Paso and Memphis should have ~90 deaths per week each
