but rarely do I see people commenting, let alone discussion.

This is a bit surprising, given how much effort is put into those papers.
And the lots of "comments" that appear later in the form of "references".

But directly commenting and discussing would be much faster
and more effective - multiple parties could comment and discuss
other than in those papers.

That whole system with grants and papers appears antiquated and
inefficient to me.


I also posted a comment to the recent NEJM-paper, but it didn't appear
(censored ?) -----edit : it shows now, took a while ---------------
