The governor of Piaui, Wellington Dias (PT), declared an emergency after the death of two pregnant women with suspected influenza A (H1N1), Swine influenza. This year alone there have been 27 suspected cases, two confirmed and one death caused by disease. Three other women were hospitalized with suspected disease.

The governor met on Monday (22), authorities in an attempt to devise strategies to combat the flu. The certainly of emergency will last three months, so it is easier to buy or rent equipment for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Another measure was the release of 16 beds at the Hospital of the Military Police for patients transferred from the Institute of Tropical Diseases Natan Portela that is not with the disease. So the institute, which is a reference state in the treatment of influenza, will be given to people infected with influenza H1N1

The governor of Piaui, Wellington Dias, declared an emergency after the death of two pregnant women with suspected influenza A (H1N1) in the last 18 to 20. This year, the state has recorded 27 suspected cases, two confirmed and one death caused by disease. Three women are hospitalized with suspected disease. On Monday, the day brought together in an attempt to devise strategies to combat the flu. BRASILIA - The government of the Piau? investigates four suspect cases of influenza A (H1N1) ? pig flu in pregnant. Previously, already the deaths of six pregnant women were registered, being five in the capital Teresina and one in the city of Good Jesus, south of the state - all with symptoms of the flu. Up to the moment, three results gave negatives for the flu and the organ waits for the examinations of others three women, when Adolfo Lutz was carried out by the Institute, in Sao Paulo. The state already registered seven cases of the disease of the first day of January up to the last Sunday (28). The patients are in treatment, in accordance with the general office.
Another 34 suspect cases are under investigation also.
