PHOTO RELEASE: Louisiana DEQ Documents Oil Impacts This Week on State's Shoreline
More than 18,800 gallons of oil skimmed in Plaquemines, Jefferson Parishes already this week.
Baton Rouge (September 16, 2010) - As part of the Shoreline Cleanup and Assessment Teams working on the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, staff of the Department of Environmental Quality documented heavy oil impacts in Bay Jimmy and Barataria Bay this week in Louisiana.<?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O /><O

According to reports compiled by the Louisiana National Guard, on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week alone, skimming operations in Louisiana collected 18,849 gallons of oil and 1,704 cubic yards of oily debris in Jefferson and Plaquemines parishes.
