Three more cases of Swine Flu in the region
Brings total number of confirmed cases of H1N1 virus in Peterborough to seven

Three new cases of the H1N1 flu virus have been reported to the local health unit in the past week.
This brings the total number of lab-confirmed cases in the Peterborough region to seven.
"While there are only seven lab-confirmed cases, this confirms that influenza is in our community and that the actual number of cases is much higher since many are mild and go unreported or untested," local medical officer of health Dr. Rosana Pellizzari said in a statement.
Dr. Pellizzari also said that looking at visits to the hospital emergency department, absenteeism rates at local schools and discussions with family physicians indicates in the past several weeks there has been an increase in respiratory and flu-like illnesses in Peterborough. Only one person with a lab-confirmed case of H1N1 was hospitalized. That person has since been released from the hospital.
Two local schools have lab-confirmed cases of H1N1.
