People Worried About H1N1 Virus Swamp ER
Omaha, Neb.
Reporter: Associated Press
Officials at the Nebraska Medical Center say their emergency room has been swamped with sick people concerned about H1N1 virus.
They're reminding the public that most cases of the H1N1 virus have been mild, with the sick recovering at home without treatment. Those who believe they may have H1N1 virus are advised to contact their doctor's office.
Symptoms of H1N1 are similar to those of seasonal flu. They include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headaches, chills, fatigue, diarrhea and vomiting.
The medical center has also activated a hotline to handle concerns about H1N1 virus. It can be reached by calling 402-599-9996.
State officials have reported three H1N1 virus deaths in Nebraska.
