Allentown: Skunks have rabies; don't feed them

With two rabid skunks recently found in east Allentown, the city's Animal Control department is warning city residents to take precautions, principally by keeping food away from outdoor animals.
On March 26, a skunk bit a city resident and continued to act strangely in the 2000 block of E. Columbia Street. City police shot the skunk, which was sent to a laboratory that confirmed it had rabies.

The resident who was bitten is receiving medical care, including a series of rabies vaccinations.
