Park University will host a community forum on the H1N1 flu on Wednesday, Sept. 16.
The community forum, presented by the Platte County (Mo.) Health Department, will begin at noon in the Graham Tyler Memorial Chapel on the University's Parkville Campus. A question-and-answer session will be held at the conclusion of the forum.
While there are no cases of H1N1 reported at any of Park University?s campuses in the Kansas City area, Park's Emergency Management Planning Team has activated the University?s Pandemic Influenza Response Plan as a proactive step. University officials said they are constantly monitoring the situation and are in close contact with the Platte County Health Department and other organizations, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, to monitor flu conditions and make decisions about the best steps to take concerning the University.
For those unable to attend the forum and as a future resource, please note that the community forum and Q&A session will be videotaped and placed on the Park University website, www.park.edu, for viewing at a later date.
