2nd International Conference on Avian Influenza in Humans:
Recent Developments and Perspectives

The second edition of Paris Anti-Avian Influenza 2007, will take place at the Institut Pasteur in Paris from May 31 to June 1, 2007. Paris Anti-Avian Influenza 2007 will gather more than 200 specialists from 23 countries.
The hot topics of Anti-Avian influenza 2007 will be:
- Political and economic issues of Avian Influenza
- Latest scientific advances on the H5N1 virus
- Latest scientific advances on H5N1 detection
- Prevention and treatments: Focus on vaccine and drugs development

Avian Influenza eradication: Why is it so difficult?
Dr M. Edeas, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of Paris Anti-Avian Influenza 2007 announces: ”Our aim is to launch the discussion between the different actors involved in the fight against Avian Influenza, starting from medical and scientific specialists to government crisis management specialists. We will try to answer many questions: Pandemic preparation: Is Europe ready? Can the pandemic be predicted? What are the ethical outcomes of a pandemic outbreak? Practical measures and controlling of pandemic Influenza spread: The example of travel restrictions.
Paris Anti-Avian Influenza 2007 will also provide the opportunity to scientists and industrials to present their work on H5N1, new targets, new tracks or products that have shown their efficiency in the fight against influenza or new tools and kits to detect the virus (N Pourmand- Stanford University, Rockeby Biomed Ltd).
