- Out of 27 outbreaks, 19 occurred in the district of Trondelag and three in the district of Rogaland. Mild clinical signs in a few farms.
- Pig to pig transmission of A H1N1 within the same herd is highly suggestive after we have seen a high proportion (18/20) of pigs sampled from the index farm tested positive. However, we have not determined if the source of the outbreaks for all the affected farms came from infected humans or newly introduced infected pigs. We are doing further epidemiological investigations to ascertain the chronology of events including the first signs of disease in the pigs and first signs of illness in the farm workers and the movement of pigs in and out of the farm.
- Molecular typing to confirm the strains is also ongoing to help establish the epidemiology link between affected pig herds and infected humans.
