Over six thousand coronavirus camps formed in Punjab: Fayyaz Chohan

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Information Minister Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan Monday said over six thousand camps have been formed in Punjab to facilitate the coronavirus patients.

The provincial minister said in his statement that Buzdar government is providing every possible relief to the poor. He further added that the families already registered at 8070 will benefit from the aid program.

It is pertinent here to mention that Punjab is the worst-hit province by novel coronavirus in Pakistan as 11,568 persons have been tested positive for the pandemic in the province.

Over 285 Covid-19 cases confirmed in Punjab police dept

...LAHORE: As many as 285 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab Police.

Only in Lahore, the figure has crossed 60. There has been at least 20 times increase in only one month as the first three cases were reported in the first week of April.

The figure may rise to a much higher level as the tests of at least 4,100 police officials are awaited.

Out of 285 patients, 58 personnel have rejoined duties after recovery. The figures show that the coronavirus has been spreading at a faster pace in Punjab Police.

The number of positive cases in Punjab Police has surpassed any other government department involved in fighting the pandemic.

...Among the 36 districts of Punjab, the police in at least 20 districts have reported cases of coronavirus.

The districts included Lahore, Kasur, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Narowal, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jehlum, Faisalabad, Multan, Sahiwal, DG Khan, Rajanpur, Muzaffargarh, Layyah, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan and Lodhran.

Reportedly, such a large number of infected cases are being reported in the police department due to a lack of sanitisation and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

The Ministry of National Health Services said that 2,255 cases were confirmed positive on Tuesday after 11,848 tests were conducted.

A total of 31 fresh deaths have been reported, taking the number of fatalities in the country to 737, it said, adding that the number of confirmed coronavirus infections in the country have rise to 34,336.

So far, 13,225 cases have been registered in Punjab, 12,610 in Sindh...

The number of new cases is rising fast since last week and the officials are urging people to follow guidelines and avoid going outside.
