MIRANSHAH: Hundreds of tribesmen, mostly women and children, are suffering from high fever caused by leishmaniasis and dengue and hospitalised in different health centres of the North Waziristan Agency, doctors said.

The doctors at the Agency Headquarters Hospital in Miranshah, Tehsil Hospital Mir Ali and Tehsil Hospital in Dattakhel said that hundreds of people suffering from high fever were admitted to these health facilities during the past four days.

They said majority of the patients were suffering from malaria, dengue fever and some from leishmaniasis. ?Frankly speaking, we don?t have enough drugs and specialist doctors for dengue fever and leishmaniasis but can?t refuse patients at the hospital,? a doctor at the Agency Headquarters Hospital in Miranshah told The News.
