ROPAR: A four year old girl died and 20 other persons fell ill due to Gastroenteritis at village Rurrki Heeran near Chamkaur Sahib allegedly after consuming contaminated water.
The residents of a particular locality of the village started complaining of diarrhea and vomiting yesterday and were admitted to Community Health Centre at Chamkaur Sahib. However, a four year old girl Harshpreet Kaur died before reaching the hospital last night due to dehydration caused by diarrhea .The number of patients of Gastroenteritis admitted in Community Health Centre swell to 20 today and were undergoing treatment at the hospital and their condition is stable.

Health officials of Abbottabad, Mansehra say cause of illness is not gastro.
ABBOTABAD:
With three people dead and over 100 in Abbottabad and Mansehra having reported symptoms characteristic of gastroenteritis, the health authorities are refusing that it is an outbreak.
According to officials of the Women and Children Hospital, Benazir Shaheed Hospital, Ayub Medical Complex Abbottabad and King Abdullah Teaching Hospital Mansehra, over 100 patients have come in during the last two weeks with vomiting, severe abdominal pain and dysentery.
