Sindh records 5,000 Malaria cases in last 24 hours

KARACHI: Malaria has become rampant in Sindh province as more than 5,000 new cases were reported across the province in last 24-hours.

The rapid spread of malaria has resulted in the identification of 5,185 new patients within a single day, pushing the total number of malaria cases in the province this year to 352,238.

Over the past day, the breakdown of new cases is as follows: 2,243 cases in the Hyderabad division, 1,490 in Larkana, 949 in Mirpur Khas, 283 in Sukkur, 195 in Shaheed Benazirabad, and 25 in Karachi.​..

Alarming number of Malaria cases reported in Sindh province

​Sindh province is currently experiencing an alarming increase in malaria cases, with over 3,000 new cases reported in the last 24 hours.

According to data from the province Health Department, Hyderabad was affected the most , recording 1,381 recent cases.

Larkana has 827 patients, Mirpurkhas has 513, Sukkur has 379, while Karachi has a relatively low figure of seven patients.

Karachi, in spite of being the major urban center in the province, has reported 2858 cases in total. Hyderabad has the highest number of cases, amounting to an alarming 212,333 figure.​..
