A new case of polio case been confirmed in a 3-year-old girl of tribal district Khyber in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa here Saturday. The girl, who was diagnosed with the poliovirus, was previously administered polio vaccine during the anti-polio campaign.
This is the seventh polio case reported in Khyber district and 16th in the entire province. The overall tally of polio cases across the country reaches 29.

PESHAWAR: Three new polio cases have surfaced in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Sunday, raising the tally of such patients in the province to 18 during the current month, ARY News reported.
According to KP Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) for Polio Eradication, the polio cases were reported in Lakki Marwat, Tank district and Karak.

Karachi: Polio Eradication Initiative Friday said one more child has been crippled by the Wild Polio Virus 1 (WPV1) in Tehsil Dokri, District Larkana of Sindh, raising the total confirmed polio cases in Sindh to 20 and 58 in entire Pakistan.

Polio paralyses child in Lahore
LAHORE: The polio virus has affected a child in Lahore, a Punjab Polio Eradication Programme spokesperson confirmed on Tuesday.
“The virus has paralysed all four limbs of the 26-month-old child,” said the spokesperson. “The child suffered paralysis in June. Subsequently, his stool samples were sent to the national laboratory which confirmed on Tuesday that the child is affected with polio,” said the spokesperson.
“The child later died in the Children Hospital. The cause of death is being determined,” added the spokesperson. ISLAMABAD: A case of polio has been reported in Balochistan, which has taken the countrywide tally of such cases detected during the current year to 64.
According to an official of the National Institute of Health, the latest victim is a 20-month-old boy. His family lives in Union Council Mian Ghundi of Quetta district.
“Both the child’s lower limbs have been paralysed. He did not receive any polio vaccine as his family was against vaccination. Socio-economic status of the family has been termed poor,” he said...
Polio in Pakistan could get significantly worse this year even as the world is celebrating eradication of the virus from Africa, according to independent experts monitoring the worldwide vaccination campaign.
Modelling suggests the country could suffer hundreds of cases in 2020, and the crippling virus is now claiming victims in areas once considered clear of the scourge.
