Weekly update: 31 dengues cases reported

KARACHI:
As many as 31 dengue fever cases were reported from Karachi in a week, taking the total number of reported cases in the city to 896 since January 1.

According to the weekly report issued by the Prevention and Control Program for Dengue in Sindh, at least 32 new dengue fever cases surfaced across the province. Out of these, 31 were from Karachi.

In September, a total 154 dengue positive cases were detected across the province, out of which 148 were from Karachi and six from other districts...

Eight more test positive for dengue virus

RAWALPINDI:
The dengue virus has been confirmed in eight more patients in the Allied Hospitals within the past 24 hours.

Dengue virus patients have been moved to the quarantine wards set up in the state-run hospitals of the garrison city.

The department of health and the city administration are facing a dire situation with the spike in dengue cases.

According to health officials, the number of patients with confirmed dengue virus stands at 125. At least 57 of them belong to Islamabad and they were shifted to Rawalpindi from Islamabad.

Dengue has been confirmed in 51 citizens of Rawalpindi so far. Four dengue patients belong to Attock, while four are from to K-P, five from AJK and three were expatriates who had come home only to be bitten by dengue infested mosquitoes and land in hospitals.

Among the three expats locked up in quarantine wards, one was from Jhelum, and the other two were from Sargodha and Chakwal...

KARACHI: At least 12 more dengue fever cases were reported across the city in a week, taking the reported cases? toll to 944 in the city since 1st January 2018.

As per weekly report issued by Prevention and Control Program for Dengue in Sindh, as many as 12 new dengue fever cases were recorded throughout the Karachi city in a week.

No new case was reported from others districts of the province. In October, a total 16 dengue positive cases were reported from Karachi city...

Islamabad : A dengue fever outbreak that started hitting population in various vicinities falling in Union Council Tarnol of the federal capital has continued its spread though the number of cases reported everyday has been showing downward trend for the last 72 hours.

Data collected by ?The News? on Sunday has revealed that as many as 22 confirmed cases of dengue fever have been reported from Tarnol in last four days taking the total number of confirmed patients so far reported from the affected area to 154.

The data also reveals that in last four days, a total of 35 confirmed patients of the infection have been reported from various localities in the federal capital taking total number of patients so far reported from Islamabad to 201...

KARACHI: At least 82 more dengue fever cases were reported across the City during the last week, taking the official toll to 1,203 recorded so far in 2018.

As per a weekly report issued by Prevention and Control Programme for Dengue in Sindh, as many as 85 new dengue fever cases were detected throughout the Sinh province last week of which 82 cases were from Karachi and three from other districts of the province...

As the number of suspected dengue cases soared past 700, the Rawalpindi district administration is weighing up plans to launch a comprehensive effort which would curb the incidence of dengue next year.

While dengue cases are on the decline in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi owing to the onset of winter, the national health body has issued a seasonal illness alert.

As many as 734 suspected dengue patients have been admitted and treated at hospitals in Rawalpindi so far this year. Of these, 377 have been reported from Rawalpindi district...

128 more dengue cases reported in Karachi

As many as 128 more dengue fever cases have emerged in Karachi this week, taking the reported cases toll to 1,331 since 1st January 2018.

According to the weekly report issued by Prevention and Control Program for Dengue in Sindh, at least 137 new dengue fever cases surfaced across the Sindh province in a week out of which 128 were in Karachi and nine in other districts.

Around 49,938 infected, 107 died of dengue in four years

Islamabad: Around 49,938 persons have been infected by Dengue in the country during last four years, of which 107 lost their precious lives because of this fatal disease.

Of the total, 3,930 were affected in Islamabad, 6,058 in Punjab, 10,447 in Sindh, 28,298 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), 139 in Balochistan, 398 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), and 668 in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) while no data was available for Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).

The year-wise data of provinces issued by National Health Services Division on Friday showed that in Punjab 2,912 persons were affected by Dengue during 2015, 2,591 in 2016, 508 in 2017 and 47 in 2018. In Islamabad 526 persons were affected by Dengue during 2015, 2,813 in 2016, 296 in 2017 and 295 in 2018...
