The region is bracing for the return of H1N1 influenza.

Health officials in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties met on Wednesday at the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, discussing H1N1 preparations in the region.

Philadelphia health commissioner Dr. Donald Schwarz says those at risk should get the vaccine when it becomes available next month:

"We know that the risk groups for H1N1 as mentioned include children and those adults who have chronic illness. For 'children' we are talking about those from six months through -- and I apologize to young adults -- the age of 24."

But he says everyone must continue to hang tight for a while:

"We don't yet have a vaccine for them. We expect the vaccine from the Centers for Disease Control sometime after mid-October." (Continued ...)
