Some chickens have fallen ill in Lebanon County recently, but experts say their disease is not contagious for humans, and the animals did not have to be killed.

Gregory Martin, poultry expert with the Penn State Cooperative Extension Office in Lancaster, said recently that the chickens had contracted Infectious Laryngotracheitis, or ILT, an upper respiratory disease. Martin said the disease was confined to Lebanon County...
