Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center is notifying patients and visitors they may have been exposed to the measles virus if they were in or near the emergency department check-in area on Aug. 18.

The potential exposure window has been determined to have been from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. on that day, center spokeswoman Barbara Schindo said Saturday.

The alert is being issued because a patient in the emergency department was diagnosed with the symptoms of measles at that time, Schindo said. That patient was promptly isolated, she said. Blood test results returned on Friday show the patient "very likely" had measles...

Officials with the Pennsylvania Department of Health said a person with a suspected case of measles visited several locations in Lancaster County and may have exposed others to the disease.

Exposures could have happened at the following locations and times on Aug. 16:
