Health Department Issues Notification About Potential Measles Exposure
For immediate release: March 12, 2025​


PHILADELPHIA—The Philadelphia Department of Public Health and Pennsylvania Department of Health are notifying the public of a potential measles exposure at the following locations:

• South Philadelphia Health & Literacy Center
  • This building includes CHOP Pediatric Primary Care South Philadelphia, Health Department Health Center #2, and the South Philadelphia Library, though there were no potential exposures in the library.
  • 1700 South Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19145
  • Friday, March 7, 2025, between 10:45 a.m. and 2:40 p.m.
  • Saturday, March 8, 2025, between 9:05 a.m. and 1:20 p.m.
• CHOP Emergency Department
  • 3401 Civic Center Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA, 19104
  • Monday, March 10, 2025, 7:55 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.

​This measles case was exposed while traveling abroad and is not connected with the recent measles case identified in Montgomery County, or cases in other parts of the country

“We believe there is no threat to the general public associated with this case of measles.” said Health Commissioner Dr. Palak Raval-Nelson. “We know that this measles case is not associated with either the recent case in Montgomery County or the ongoing outbreak in Texas. As vaccination rates across the country continue to drop, there are more and more opportunities for people who cannot be vaccinated to be exposed to this deadly disease. That’s why it is critical for everyone who needs to be protected from measles to get vaccinated as soon as possible.”​

Two cases of measles confirmed in Erie County

(WJET/WFXP)– The Erie County Department of Health has confirmed two cases of measles in connection with traveling internationally.

The DOH said they do not believe there’s a risk of community spread or exposures as of yet but confirmed the two cases Monday morning.

They’re now working with the PA Department of Health to follow up on any potential exposures. Anyone who’s been potentially exposed will be notified by the DOH...

Measles case reported in Abington Township, Philly Department of Public Health says

The Philadelphia Department of Public Health announced today that another case of measles was reported at Holy Redeemer Hospital, 1648 Huntingdon Pike, Meadowbrook (Abington Township), on Tuesday, April 8 between 6:05pm and 9:45pm.

The case also spent time at Pennsylvania Hospital on Sunday, April 6. Residents are asked to click this link if you were in either location and are not immune to measles...

Erie County is officially in the midst of a measles outbreak after two more cases were found last week.

The latest cases were identified as direct exposures to a case reported March 30, Erie County Department of Health officials said Monday in a news release. The ages and vaccination status of the latest cases were not available.

Since the three latest cases are linked by exposure, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention define it as an outbreak.

Five confirmed measles cases have been reported in the county since late March. They are the county's first confirmed cases since 1991...

Pennsylvania Department of Health Announces Confirmed Measles Case in Out-of-State Individual who visited Multiple PA Counties
Individual from another state visited Adams, Clearfield, Lancaster, and York counties and was contagious between August 4 and August 12
People who may have been exposed should contact their health care provider or call the Department toll-free hotline at 877-PA-HEALTH.

​Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health is alerting Pennsylvanians that an individual from another state who was contagious with measles visited multiple locations across the state, creating a potential for exposure to others. The individual, who has since left the Commonwealth, made stops in four Pennsylvania counties, including Adams, Clearfield, Lancaster, and York.

People may have been exposed to measles if they were in one of the following locations at the date and time indicated:

Sapp Bros. Travel Center, 15196 Clearfield Shawville Highway, Clearfield, PA 16830;
August 5, 2025, between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.

Farmhouse Restaurant at the Barn Resort, 75 Cunningham Rd., Gettysburg, PA 17325;
August 7, 2025, between 5:00 PM and 8:30 PM.

Hickory Falls Entertainment Center, 110 Hickory Lane, Hanover, PA 17331;
August 7, 2025, between 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM.

Midway Mennonite Reception Center; 210 E Lexington Rd., Lititz, PA 17543;
August 8 and 9, 2025, all day.

Garber Mennonite Fellowship, 6082 Old Hanover Road, Spring Grove, PA 17632;
August 10, 2025, between 8:30 AM and two hours after the conclusion of services.
