Ozaukee County reports swine flu death

<!--startclickprintexclude--> <!--endclickprintexclude--> Ozaukee County has reported a confirmed death from the H1N1 influenza, the 19th in Wisconsin since the novel virus appeared in the spring.
State and county health officials said the death involved a person with underlying health conditions. Authorities would not give any details about the gender or age of the person who died "out of respect for the family and patient confidentiality laws." Nor would they list the specific underlying health conditions the person had.
"For most people, the 2009 H1N1 flu is not severe," said State Health Officer Seth Foldy. "However, we know that the virus can be especially dangerous for children, individuals with compromised immune systems and those with chronic health illnesses."

I post this only because the woman who passed away was my mother. Yes, she had H1N1, but also was missing 2/3 of a lung from cancer, had emphysema and recently contracted pneumonia before coming down with H1N1.

I do not feel it was one particular thing that caused her passing, rather a combination of all of the underlying factors and H1N1.

Her underlying conditions were definately serious.
