Manitoba sees big jump in confirmed number of swine flu cases

WINNIPEG ? Health officials say Manitoba has seen a big jump in the number of confirmed swine flu cases.
There were just over 700 confirmed cases in the past week, bringing the provincial total up to 1,200.
Half of those patients were children under the age of 18.

ut even as case numbers go up, there are fewer critically ill patients.
Officials say only one swine flu patient was admitted to intensive care in the last week.
So far, almost 323,000 people in Manitoba have been vaccinated against H1N1.
