Warrenton student dies of flu complications as Oregon hits high flu season activity

WARRENTON, Ore. ? A high school freshman died of flu-related illness over the weekend, the Warrenton School District said on Monday.

The student, identified as Tim Pior, died on Sunday (March 10) of complications from influenza and pneumonia, Warrenton High School Principal Rod Heyen said.

"They are doing as best as can be expected," said Matthew Kelly, a friend of the Pior family. "They're obviously broken and hurting, but they have an incredible support system that has just flocked around them."
