H1N1 Flu Update

Note: Following the CDC practice, the numbers are updated on Friday by noon. The number of Oregon's confirmed cases reported on the CDC's website might differ from numbers posted here. If there is a discrepancy, data from our website should be considered as being the most accurate and up to date.
Cases:
The Oregon Public Health Laboratory has identified 530 confirmed cases of pandemic influenza A (H1N1) in twenty-one counties.
The cases remain fairly evenly split between the sexes with 276 males and 254 females.
The cases range in age from 1 month to 85 years; the median age is 18.
Fifty hospitalizations have been reported, Hospitalized cases range in age from 1 month to 85 years with a median age of 22.
Six deaths have been reported (one child and five adults-see table below).
