An outbreak of Pertussis, also known as whooping cough, hit the Ashland School district this week.
So far there are 2 confirmed cases.
Jackson County Public Health is advising any unvaccinated or undervaccinated children that have been exposed to the disease to stay away from school at least 21 days after the last possible exposure.
In some Ashland schools, fewer than 80 percent of children have their Pertussis shot. In one Ashland school, nearly half of students are not vaccinated for Pertussis...
