Flu bug hits school hard
BURK?S FALLS ? Flu symptoms are keeping dozens of youngsters under house arrest.
More than 10 per cent of M.A. Wittick Junior Public School students have been absent in recent days, after a large portion of youngsters came down with flu-like symptoms prompting the school to notify parents via the school newsletter last week. The local health unit has also issued an infection control reminder.
?The very young and the very old are most as risk,? explained Jill Faulkner, communications co-ordinator for the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit. ?We encourage people to practice proper infection control.?
