Ontario is reporting 525 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, a dip in the daily total from the last several days although Tuesday’s typically see lower counts due to fewer testing numbers from the weekend. The provincial case total now stands at 565,550.

Of the 525 new cases recorded, the data showed 326 were unvaccinated people, 43 were partially vaccinated people, 91 were fully vaccinated people and for 65 people the vaccination status was unknown...

...The death toll in the province has risen to 9,503 as five more deaths were recorded. However, the ministry of health said three of the deaths occurred more than two months ago. Two of the deaths are recent...

...Hospitalizations in Ontario

Ontario reported 336 people in general hospital wards with COVID-19 (up by 110 from the previous day) with 160 patients in intensive care units (down by two) and 131 patients in ICUs on a ventilator (down by three)...

...The most recent data showed for those in general hospital wards with COVID, 137 were unvaccinated, 19 were partially vaccinated and 33 were fully vaccinated. For those in ICUs, 83 were unvaccinated while 8 were partially vaccinated and 10 were fully vaccinated...

TORONTO -- Ontario is reporting over 650 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday after new infections dropped below 550 on Tuesday.

The province is reporting 656 new cases today, with 13 additional deaths.

According to the Ministry of Health, five of the 13 deaths being reported today occurred in the last week. The remaining eight occurred more than a week ago.

The province’s virus-related death toll now stands at 9,516.

The Ministry says that, of today’s cases, 397 were found in unvaccinated individuals, 52 were in partially-vaccinated individuals, 152 were in fully-vaccinated individuals and 55 were in individuals with an unknown vaccination status.

For comparison, the province reported 112 new cases on this day last year...

... Right now, there are 339 people in hospital currently infected with COVID-19.

Within those hospitalizations, 89 patients are unvaccinated, six are partially-vaccinated and 12 are fully-vaccinated.

However, the Ministry of Health says 163 patients are in intensive care units and that 135 of those patients are breathing with the help of a ventilator.

Of the total patients in ICU, 157 are unvaccinated, 14 are partially-vaccinated and 36 are fully-vaccinated. ..

Ontario reported 865 new COVID-19 cases and 14 deaths on Thursday, the highest count of cases seen since early June, with the greatest number of infections among unvaccinated people since the province started keeping track earlier this summer...

...The seven-day rolling average of new cases now stands at 728, up from 646 one week ago.

The Ministry of Health says 540 people representing 62 per cent of all cases detected Thursday were unvaccinated...

... The Ministry says partially vaccinated, unvaccinated and those with unknown status made up 692 cases, or 80 per cent of the infections detected.

One-hundred and seventy three fully-vaccinated people tested positive for COVID-19, making up 20 per cent of the total.

Unvaccinated and partially vaccinated people make up 33 per cent of Ontario’s population...

... The province continues to not report recent COVID-19 deaths in real time. On Thursday, a spokesperson for the minister of health said four the deaths occurred in the last seven days, with the remaining 10 occurring “more than a week ago.”

Of 82 deaths reported in the last two weeks, 39 reportedly occurred more than two months ago but were just disclosed recently due to ongoing investigations, 23 occurred last week or earlier and 20 occurred in the past week.

There have now been 9,530 deaths due to COVID-19 across the province since March 2020.

The Ministry said there were 320 people in acute and intensive care in hospital due to COVID-19 on Thursday, down from 336 two days ago.

Of those, 162 were in intensive care and 105 were breathing with the help of a ventilator...

Ontario reported 807 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, while the province says that vaccination bookings have increased since Ontario announced its vaccine certificate program.

Of the 746 cases today with a known vaccination status:

499, or 66.9 per cent, were in unvaccinated people.
68, or 9.1 per cent, had a single dose.
179, or 24 per cent, had two doses.

The province's raw data on the vaccination status of cases does not include breakdowns by age. That, and the fact that the populations of vaccinated and unvaccinated people in Ontario differ greatly by both size and demographics, are important caveats to note when examining cases by vaccination status...

...Last Friday, Ontario recorded 781 further infections from roughly the same number of tests. According to the province's COVID-19 Science Advisory Table, the doubling time for cases has extended to 32 days, up from just eight days in early August.

As of yesterday, there were 326 people with COVID-19 in hospital in Ontario. Of those, 169 were being treated for COVID-related critical illnesses in intensive care. Of the 326 in hospital, just 34 are fully vaccinated, while of the 169 in ICU, only 12 are fully vaccinated.

The Ministry of Health also reported the deaths of six more people with COVID-19 — however, it says that due to a "data clean-up," three of those deaths occurred in the last week, while the remaining three occurred more than a week ago...

TORONTO -- Ontario health officials are reporting more than 900 new COVID-19 cases, marking the highest case count seen in months.

The province confirmed 944 new cases of the novel coronavirus on Saturday, which comes after officials logged 807 cases on Friday and 865 cases on Thursday.

The last time the province reported more than 944 new cases in a single day was on May 30, when officials recorded 1,033 new cases.

Ontario’s rolling seven-day average now stands at 747, up from 686 at this point last week. The province’s seven-day average has been increasing for weeks now.

With 26,259 tests processed in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health says the positivity rate in the province is 3.5 per cent.

Of the new infections reported Saturday, 736 cases involved people who are either unvaccinated, partially vaccinated or their vaccination status is unknown. The remaining 208 infections involved people who are fully vaccinated.

The province recorded nine new deaths on Saturday, bringing the total death tally in the province to 9,545.

Five of the nine deaths reported today occurred more than two months ago, the Ministry of Health said. The deaths are being reported as part of a data catch-up.

The province stated at least 309 people are in hospital due to COVID-19, including 32 people who are fully vaccinated and 277 people who are either not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.

At least 172 patients are in intensive care in Ontario hospitals and 97 are breathing with the assistance of a ventilator...

Ontario reported 811 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday along with three new deaths, as the province’s known active caseload hit its highest point since early June.

Ontario reported 944 new cases on Saturday and 805 on Friday.

The seven-day rolling average of new cases now stands at 757, up from 688 one week ago.

Of the new cases, 580 or 72 per cent involved unvaccinated people or those with only one dose of the vaccine...

...Ontario Hospital Association CEO Anthony Dale said there were 177 people in hospital intensive care due to COVID-19 on Sunday, up from 172 on Saturday and 131 one week ago.

On Saturday, the Ontario COVID-19 Science Advisory Table reported that vaccination continues to massively reduce risk of infection, hospitalization and ICU admission.

They calculate full vaccination generates an 86 per cent relative reduction in risk of infection, 96 per cent relative reduction in risk of hospitalization and a 97 per cent relative reduction in risk of ICU admission.

TORONTO -- Ontario is reporting close to 1,200 COVID-19 infections in the last 48 hours.

Of the 1,145 cases logged Tuesday, 581 were recorded on Monday and 564 were recorded today.

The province did not report COVID-19 case numbers on Monday due to the statutory holiday...

... The seven-day average for the number of cases reported across Ontario stands at 746. This time last week that number was 701.

According to Health Minister Christine Elliott, 434 of the cases reported Tuesday are in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 130 are in fully vaccinated individuals.

Similarly, 457 of the cases logged Monday were in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 124 were in fully vaccinated individuals...

... Right now, there are 295 people in hospital with COVID-19. At least 192 of those patients are being treated in an intensive care unit. The vaccination status of all hospitalized COVID-19 patients was not disclosed by the province.

For the second time in the last three days, Ontario is reporting a week-over-week decline in the number of new COVID-19 cases.

Provincial health officials logged 554 new COVID-19 cases today, a notable drop from the 656 infections reported last Wednesday and the 660 cases confirmed two weeks ago...

... Ontario Health Minister Christine Elliott said of the cases reported today, 418, or 75 per cent, are in those who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status. Vaccinated individuals account for 136 of the new cases today.

About 32 per cent of Ontarians are not yet fully vaccinated.

The rolling seven-day average of new cases has also started to decline.

The average daily case count is now 732, down from 746 on Tuesday and 741 on Monday. Week-over-week, the seven-day average is still up from 701 last Wednesday...

... The number of active COVID-19 cases in the province is now 6,040, up from 5,861 last Wednesday.

The province confirmed 16 more virus-related deaths today. Officials say 11 deaths occurred over the past week and five occurred more than two months ago...

... Virus-related intensive unit (ICU) care admissions continue to rise in the province. The Ministry of Health says there are 194 COVID-19 patients in the ICU, including 115 who are breathing with the assistance of a ventilator. That is up from 163 and 98 respectively one week ago.

The province says 186 people in the ICU are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and eight are fully immunized...

Ontario is reporting 789 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, breaking a three-day stretch that saw cases below 600 as the number of tests processed have increased following Labour Day weekend. The provincial case total now stands at 572,130.

Of the 789 new cases recorded, the data showed 497 were unvaccinated people, 57 were partially vaccinated people, 178 were fully vaccinated people and for 66 people the vaccination status was unknown...

...The death toll in the province has risen to 9,579 as three new deaths were recorded. In addition, the Ontario Ministry of Health said seven more deaths occurred more than a month ago due to data cleanup and were added to the overall total...

TORONTO -- Health officials in Ontario confirmed 848 new cases of COVID-19 Friday as well as 11 deaths related to the disease.

The new infections mark an increase over Thursday’s report when 798 were recorded.

Ontario’s seven-day average for the number of cases reported is now 728. This time last week, that number was 731.

Of the cases reported Friday, Health Minister Christine Elliott said 659 involve individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 189 are in fully vaccinated individuals.

Right now, there are 361 people in hospital with COVID-19 and 331 of them are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status. At least 30 patients in hospital are fully vaccinated.

Moreover, there are 177 people in the ICU with the disease and 163 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status while 14 are fully vaccinated.

With 11 more deaths linked to COVID-19 reported in the last 24 hours, Ontario’s death toll stands at 9,590...

TORONTO -- Ontario is reporting just over 850 new COVID-19 cases as well as 15 additional deaths related to the disease.

Of the 857 new infections logged Saturday, health officials say 649 were not fully vaccinated or had an unknown status.

Saturday’s cases mark a slight increase from the 848 cases reported Friday and the 798 cases logged Thursday.

Due in large part to a three-day dip mid week in which the province reported fewer than 600 infections, the seven-day rolling average of daily cases is 716, down from 757 the previous week.

With just over 26,200 COVID-19 tests processed in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health says the province’s positivity rate is about 3.5 per cent.

There are 363 people being treated for the novel coronavirus in Ontario hospitals, and officials say 321 of those patients are not fully vaccinated with both shots or have an unknown vaccination status.

At least 180 people are being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) and 114 of those patients are breathing with the assistance of a ventilator

According to health officials, 165 of the people being treated in ICUs are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown status.

Of the 15 deaths reported Saturday, officials say that seven "occurred more than one month ago and were added to the cumulative count based on data cleaning."...

TORONTO -- Ontario is reporting 784 new COVID-19 infections, marking the fourth day in a row in which the daily case count has been above the 700 mark.

Sunday’s new cases represent a slight decrease from the 857 infections on Saturday, the 848 on Friday and the 798 on Thursday.

With just over 23,600 COVID-19 tests processed in the last 24-hour period, the Ministry of Health says the province’s positivity rate is about 3.2 per cent.

The seven-day average of daily infections now stands at 712, down from 746 last week in part due to a three-day stretch in which the case counts were in the 500s.

Health Minister Christine Elliott says that of the 784 cases reported Sunday, there were 602 cases found in people who were not fully vaccinated or who had an unknown status.

Health officials also reported six additional deaths related to COVID-19 on Sunday, adding that two of them "occurred more than one month ago and were added to the cumulative count based on data cleaning."

There are 184 people in Ontario intensive care units as a result of COVID-19. One hundred and seven of those patients are breathing with the assistance of a ventilator.

However, not all hospitals report COVID-19 data on the weekends.

The total number of lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ontario is now 574,619, including 9,611 deaths and 558,759 recoveries...

TORONTO -- Ontario is reporting more than 700 new COVID-19 cases and six additional deaths.

Health officials reported 715 new cases in Ontario on Sunday, which is a slight drop from the 821 infections on Saturday.

The highest number of new cases in a single day this week was on Thursday when 864 infections were logged.

On Sunday, 540 cases are in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status, while 175 are in fully vaccinated individuals.

Ontario's rolling seven-day average, which has declined the past two days, now stands at 709.

With 29,906 tests processed in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health says the positivity rate in the province is 2.3 per cent.

There are currently 245 people in Ontario hospitals with COVID-19. At least 182 patients are in intensive care and 129 are breathing with the assistance of a ventilator. The total number of patients in hospitals may appear lower on weekends because not all hospitals report data.

Today’s report brings the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Ontario to 579,584, including deaths and recoveries...

Ontario is reporting more than 600 new COVID-19 cases today as the average number of new infections reported each day continues to slowly decline.

Provincial health officials logged 610 new infections today, down from 715 on Sunday but up slightly from 600 one week ago.

The rolling seven-day average of new infections now stands at 711, down by four from last Monday.

Of the cases reported today, 458, about 75 per cent, are in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 152, or 25 per cent, are in those who are fully immunized...

... With 23,864 tests processed over the past 24 hours, officials are reporting a provincewide positivity rate of 2.7 per cent, down from 3.1 per cent last Monday.

Virus-related intensive care admissions dipped week-over-week to 177, down from 189 seven days ago. The number of COVID-19 patients on ventilators, however, has risen over the past week to 123, up from 116 last Monday.

Ontario added two more virus-related fatalities to its overall death toll today.

The number of active infections in the province is now 6,376, up slightly from 6,216 one week ago...
