ONONDAGA COUNTY -- The Onondaga County Health Department confirmed Wednesday another person has died from the flu.

The Health Department says the victim was a middle-aged person who did not have the flu vaccine.

That brings the total number of deaths related to the flu to 6 in Central New York.

Four people have now died from the flu in Onondaga County. The first two were reported in mid-January. Onondaga County continues to see a rise in flu cases. There were 110 last week, which is the high point for the season so far.

One person has died from the flu in both Madison and Oswego Counties. Those two victims were also middle-aged adults.
