Only 1 swine flu report in Tulare schools so far

One swine flu case has been reported in Tulare schools since the beginning of the school year, despite a rush of other cases at Tulare County campuses over the past few weeks.

Tulare City School District nurse Tricia Grissom reported that its case of H1N1 was a student at Mission Valley School.
?We learned of it Wednesday, but the child hadn?t been at school since the Friday before,? Grissom said.
The district follows guidelines given to it by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Tulare County Department of Health and Human Services.
Superintendent Luis Castellanoz said that although there has only been one swine flu diagnosis in his district, any student that is displaying flu-like symptoms is being sent home.
