The official death toll from H1N1 flu in Minnesota crept to 60 on Wednesday, as state health officials confirmed that a patient who died in December had the pandemic virus.
In its weekly flu update, the Minnesota Department of Health released no details about the 60th victim, or why it took three months to confirm the link to H1N1. Eight other Minnesotans have died of flu-related illnesses since the outbreak began last May, with unidentified or different strains of flu.
