Eighteen days after 58 years were interned in the University Hospital (HU) of Campo Grande with pneumonia, the rural worker John Augusto Gomes of Roe, it died with suspicion of having had the flu A (H1N1). This would be the fifth death caused by the pig flu in the Capital, though it will never be proved that the patient had the disease, because material for examination was not collected at time.

As well as the teacher Jane da Silva Figueiredo, 48, Roe also died in Tuesday (day 19). According to his daughter, Marluce of Roe, 37, he did not resist any of the treatments that the doctors prescribed and had three cardiac arrests when it passed by a traqueostomia ? orifice opened in the windpipe for the placing of tubes of artificial breathing. ? He was already very much weakened, the kidney and the liver were not working any more straight, he had a hemorrhage in the stomach. No medicine what the doctors were giving was working ?, it told.
