?Currently, there are 11 confirmed patients of swine flu in the province, of whom nine are being treated at Aga Khan University Hospital, one at South City Hospital (private) and one patient has been confirmed positive for swine flu in Sukkur,? he added.

He said that after the death of the swine flu patient, health authorities had collected samples of immediate family members, neighbours and friends of the victim for tests in order to confirm whether or not they were also infected with the deadly influenza.

?Samples of family members of the deceased, neighbours and friends who visited him during the illness have also been sent to Islamabad as well as the sentinel lab at the CHK to check as to whether any of them is suffering from the disease or not,? he added.

Swine flu surveillance cell officials confirmed that H1N1 Type A Influenza cases were being reported from all over the country, especially Karachi, and advised the people to follow health guidelines to avoid contacting the deadly viral disease.
