Douglass Forum Addresses Swine Flu Tonight

Local health officials will update the public on the swine flu virus in a community forum tonight.
The forum, "H1N1: The Virus and the Vaccine," begins at 7 p.m. at the Douglass Theatre on Martin Luther King Boulevard in downtown Macon.
Scheduled to speak are:
* Dr. German Gonzalez, unit director, infectious disease & epidemiology for the state's South Central Health District;
* Karen Ebey-Tessendorf, the district's director of emergency preparedness
* David Gowan, Bibb County school's director of risk management
* Latravious Smith, interim director of the Macon-Bibb County Office of Emergency Management Agency
The experts will answer questions and distribute brochures and pamphlets on the H1N1 virus and the vaccine.
