Hamilton Health Sciences has declared a C. difficile outbreak at Juravinski Hospital after five cases were diagnosed over the past 28 days.

Staff have increased their efforts to control and prevent the spread of the infection, according to HHS. So far, the outbreak is confined to the the in-patient Hematology unit of the hospital.

Patients have been isolated and the hospital remains open...

A C.difficile outbreak declared at Juravinski this week started within the hospital.

Hamilton Health Sciences is dealing with a total of nine C.difficile cases across the Juravinski location. Six of those were hospital acquired and three were brought in from the community...

It has not had any new hospital-acquired cases of the disease on C4-Hematology at the east Mountain facility since Feb. 22...
