Patient at Deaconess Hospital being evaluated for possible Ebola symptoms

Officials at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City confirm they are treating a patient that is exhibiting possible symptoms of Ebola.

A hospital spokesperson tells Fox 25 that this is not yet a confirmed case of Ebola.

Deaconess Hospital says the patient arrived Thursday evening exhibiting symptoms that could be associated with Ebola. The Oklahoma State Health Department tells Fox 25 that the patient's landlord had recently traveled to West Africa.

BREAKING UPDATE: A spokesperson for Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City says they've finished evaluating a patient that had been isolated for exhibiting possible Ebola symptoms, and determined the patient does not have Ebola.

Deaconess Hospital says the patient came to the hospital Thursday night exhibiting possible symptoms of Ebola and was isolated in a negative flow hospital room...

.."Deaconess Hospital has assessed a patient with symptoms that could be associated with Ebola. Following a careful and thorough review of the patient's symptoms, risk factors and test results, the Department of Health and the CDC have determined that the patient has not been exposed to Ebola. Erring on the side of public safety, the hospital followed all appropriate protocol set forth by the CDC and we are pleased that our staff and processes worked appropriately. The hospital appreciates the cooperation and support of public health authorities. Deaconess is dedicated to providing patients with high quality care in a safe environment."..
